Accounting Customer Service Assistant

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Customer Service Assistant to support both the accounting and customer service functions. This role is ideal for someone with experience in billing, invoicing, and bills of lading (BOLs) who enjoys working cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and customers to ensure accuracy and efficiency. This will be a short term contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage customer billing and invoicing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Review and verify bills of lading (BOLs) and shipping documentation against orders and invoices
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure accurate shipment and delivery details
• Respond to customer inquiries related to orders, invoices, and account discrepancies
• Reconcile billing issues, short shipments, and pricing discrepancies
• Maintain accurate customer accounts and transaction records
• Support accounts receivable functions, including payment application and follow-up on outstanding balances
• Assist with order entry and order validation, including pricing, freight, and delivery details
• Partner with internal teams (production, shipping, accounting) to ensure smooth order fulfillment
• Identify and help resolve process gaps to improve accuracy and customer experience

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in billing, customer service, or accounting support within a manufacturing or distribution environment

Strong understanding of invoicing, BOLs, and order-to-cash processes

Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume transactions

Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset

Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
