Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Coppell, Texas on a Contract basis. This role is well suited for someone who combines strong accounting knowledge with accurate data handling and can work confidently with purchasing and invoice records. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day financial processing, review transactions for accuracy, and help resolve issues when discrepancies arise.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices against purchase orders in the ERP and ensure records are matched accurately before billing is completed.

• Maintain timely and precise data entry for accounting transactions while verifying supporting documentation and coding details.

• Prepare and post journal entries to keep financial records complete and aligned with reporting needs.

• Review general ledger activity, identify inconsistencies, and investigate variances or transaction issues as needed.

• Support accounts payable activities by validating invoice details, monitoring outstanding purchase orders, and following up on exceptions.

• Analyze transaction data to detect errors, clarify discrepancies, and escalate unresolved concerns to the appropriate stakeholders.

• Assist with maintaining organized accounting documentation and ensure financial information is recorded in accordance with internal standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting support role.

• Practical knowledge of journal entries and general ledger processes.

• Understanding of accounts payable workflows, including invoice review and payment-related documentation.

• Familiarity with purchase order processing and matching invoices to open POs.

• Strong data entry accuracy with the ability to recognize and address accounting discrepancies.

• Analytical skills and sound judgment to troubleshoot transaction issues effectively.
