| Position Description |
We invite applicants for an Associate position in the Kirschner Lab at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. The Kirschner Lab investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying cell behavior, development, and disease, with active projects spanning quantitative cell biology, gene-editing approaches, and the application of molecular techniques to fundamental biological questions. We welcome applications from recent or upcoming Bachelor’s-level graduates with strong hands-on laboratory experience who are eager to contribute to a collaborative research environment. The candidate will work with Dr. Marc Kirschner and senior lab members to support ongoing research projects within the scope of the lab’s interests. In addition to carrying out bench research — including molecular cloning, cell culture, and gene-editing experiments. The candidate will be expected to maintain detailed laboratory records, assist with experimental design and data analysis, contribute to manuscript preparation as appropriate, participate in lab meetings and journal clubs, and otherwise contribute to overall lab operations and a collaborative research environment.
The individual will participate in group meetings and collaborate in writing papers and reports to funding agencies. They will attend seminar series within HMS and take part in the scientific and intellectual life of the lab and Harvard Medical School. The candidate will work in close collaboration with lab members and staff within the Systems Biology department
