Part-time Adjunct Assistant Professor-Emergency Medicine
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Emergency Medicine undergraduate program, Department of Community Health Services and Rehabilitation Science, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh.
CONTENT AREA:
Applicants with a focus on student instruction related to Health Care Management and Leadership in Health Care courses in the Emergency Medicine undergraduate program. The position additionally involves hands-on instruction related to the practice of Emergency Medicine.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach/Instruct/Facilitate: Assist in courses across the curriculum, including but not limited to EM 1180: Health Care Management, EM 1179: Health Care Management-WEB, EM 1168: Leadership in Health Care, and EM 1178: Leadership in Health Care-WEB. Foster active student participation and engagement in learning activities. Meet and communicate with undergraduate students as requested.
Assessments/Evaluations: Assist in administering and evaluating students for the purposes of assigning student grades.
Other: Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
--Master's or other graduate degree
--At least 10 years teaching at a college or university.
Preferred Work Experiences and Qualifications:
--Paramedic Certification
--Formal training in emergency response, law enforcement, emergency medical services, and disaster preparedness.
--Previous experience teaching, mentoring, or precepting Emergency Medicine undergraduate students.
--Teaching experience of courses directly related to those mentioned in Duties and Responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
--Must be able to remain in a stationary position for sustained periods, up to 4 hours, while providing instruction in a classroom setting.
--Be able to move about the classroom to engage with and assist students with various activities.
