Description
- Manage customer orders from receipt through shipment completion.
- Coordinate outbound and inbound freight activities.
- Select carriers based on service requirements, cost, and operational needs.
- Communicate daily with carriers regarding pickups, deliveries, scheduling, and issue resolution.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively address transportation disruptions.
- Create and maintain Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping documents, and freight records.
- Ensure all shipping documentation complies with company and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within Syteline and supporting systems.
- Perform and coordinate cycle count programs.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Partner with warehouse and operations personnel to improve inventory accuracy.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and annual physical inventory processes.
- Monitor inventory transactions to ensure timely and accurate system updates.
- Serve as the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Syteline.
- Train and support employees on proper system usage and transaction processing.
- Maintain document control procedures for logistics, inventory, and operational records.
- Ensure data integrity across all inventory and logistics transactions.
- Support system enhancements, testing, and process improvements.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics and inventory management.
- Analyze inventory trends, transportation costs, service performance, and operational metrics.
- Prepare recurring reports for management and leadership teams.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements through data analysis.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through performance tracking and reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the Operations and IT teams.
- Assist with troubleshooting system issues and coordinating resolutions.
- Support software updates, process changes, and system implementations.
- Document business requirements and operational needs for technology projects.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain functions.
- Experience working within ERP systems is required. Syteline experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and logistics operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and data analysis.
- Ability to interpret operational data and develop actionable recommendations.
- Strong organizational and document management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and process compliance.
- Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
This role is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring efficient transportation execution, supporting operational decision-making through analytics, and driving continuous improvement across logistics and inventory functions. The Logistics & Inventory Specialist serves as a key operational resource supporting the Senior Team Leader and broader leadership team.
