Overview
University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.
The Director of Development, Strategic Engagement for Arts & Science (A&S) will serve as a conduit of information and strategy between A&S leadership, University offices, and the development team to advance the collaborative effort of moving transformational gifts forward. Maintain a current, deep knowledge of the strategic goals and funding priorities of A&S to align opportunities for support with donor goals. Work closely with School leadership and faculty to identify interdisciplinary and multi-layer opportunities including but not limited to facility, personnel, student, and programmatic support. Provide strategic leadership for the development of meaningful engagement opportunities for donor cultivation, engagement, and stewardship. Ensure information flows seamlessly between academic and administrative partners as their deep knowledge will be shared with the development team to help create and present individualized, compelling proposals to prospective donors accompanied by sustainable stewardship strategies. Manage a robust dataset of A&S projects, donor prospects, timelines, giving projections, and strategies for the Arts & Science campaign. Supervise development team members.

Required Experience:
7+ years of professional level experience in development, alumni relations, special events, public affairs, relationship management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning, organizational, and project management skills
Strong client relations skills
Strong event management skills
Computer proficiency including database management and spreadsheets
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $128,000.00 to USD $168,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
