The Department of Pediatrics is recruiting for a Clinical Research Assistant that will be responsible for clinical, administrative, and educational research activities related to Dr. McEvoy’s new and ongoing studies. The Clinical Research Assistant duties include, but are not limited to: completion of recruitment goals, consenting process, regular follow-up with study participants via phone and in-person to ensure completion of all protocol procedures, collection, processing and storing of biospecimens, data entry, shipment of samples, and flexibility to accommodate participant schedules. Candidate will perform venipuncture and other biological sample collections. Additional responsibilities may include social media maintenance, supply ordering, and supply shipping. Candidate must be able to establish good rapport with all study subjects and must be able to show appropriate sensitivity and tact when dealing with challenging subjects. The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs, R, SPSS and have experience with electronic medical records. Must have excellent communication skills as well as experience with the adolescent population and neuropsychological assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in relevant field OR Associate's AND 2 years of relevant experience OR 3 years of relevant experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in creating templates.
- Experience with patient population.
- MS Excel, MS Word, Epic, R, SPSS and/or other Clinical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree or LPN.
- Healthcare related experience.
- Experience with Clinical Trials or Research Protocols.
- Experience in maternal and child health care.
- Experience with Power Point , electronic data bases.
- LPN or RN license preferred.
Additional Details
- May be exposed to human fluids or tissues. Training will be provided for proper handling, processes and procedures.
- This position involves walking from office to one of several clinics on the OHSU campus and possible travel to outside clinics for patient management.
- Traveling within the metro area may be required for performing home visits.
- Ability to continue to work successfully during long time shifts that may include nights and weekends to accommodate patient’s schedules.
