The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery is hiring a Post Doctoral Associate.
As a Post Doctoral Associate at the UPMC Center for Image-Guided Neurosurgery (CIGNS), located at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, your work will be centered on high-impact neurosurgical research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational neurosurgery, neurooncology, radiomics, image-guided surgery, and Gamma Knife radiosurgery. You will contribute to the development, validation, and clinical translation of data-driven models designed to improve outcome prediction, treatment personalization, surgical planning, radiosurgical decision-making, and patient-specific risk stratification.
Your responsibilities will include large-scale clinical database management, data curation, statistical and machine learning analyses, AI model development, manuscript preparation, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and the creation of computational tools with potential clinical relevance in neurosurgery. In addition, you will have observational opportunities in neurosurgical clinics, multidisciplinary conferences, radiosurgery planning sessions, and operating rooms, allowing you to understand how advanced computational methods can be integrated into real-world neurosurgical practice. You will be provided direct mentorship and academic oversight to ensure that all activities are conducted according to the highest scientific, ethical, academic, and clinical standards. These duties and any other assignments that the principal investigator, may request. No involvement in patient care and no patient contact or interaction is permitted as part of this appointment.
