IRB Analyst

Position Description

This role will Assist and support IRB Director and Sr. Analyst with committee tasks, analyzing and coordinating office services such as personnel, budget preparation and control, fiscal affairs, equipment utilization, records control, and special management studies.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Facilitate the review and approval process for Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions.
  • Review IRB applications for completeness, accuracy, clarity and congruency. You will determine action steps and document written findings for various stages of the review processes.
  • Ensure research teams are complying with institutional policies and federal regulations related to human subjects research.
  • Assist with the coordination and preparation for the IRB meetings.
  • Assist with documentation, reporting, filing and maintenance of all IRB records.
  • Draft stipulations for all IRB submissions, meeting items and any other applicable IRB actions, as needed.
  • Assist and facilitate group meetings both internally and externally.
  • Contribute to the development of internal educational resources, policies and various other projects related to research.
  • Facilitate communications between the IRB administration team and/or board members and research teams, or other external teams.
  • Communicate with ancillary review contacts or committees within the TTUS in order to facilitate IRB reviews.


Occasional Duties

  • Assist with the development and presentation of IRB education and outreach projects.
  • Review and contribute to the processing of external IRB agreements, MOUs and other collaborative research contracts.
  • Assist with preparation of supporting documentation for AAHRPP accreditation.
  • Perform other duties related to the maintenance of AAHRPP accreditation.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in job related field plus one year of related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in an administrative office setting.
  • Prior experience in an environment that prioritizes job tasks on a regular, rotating basis, and managing strict deadlines.
  • 2 years experience working in a research capacity, with a preferred understanding of federal regulations surrounding human test subjects.
