Materials Handler
Job Description:
Position Objective:
To support the production process and production personnel by maintaining a steady flow of materials and parts.
Essential Functions:
The primary function of this position requires the safe and efficient operation of a Hilo (forklift), which is required to perform the following duties:
Transfer of parts to appropriate locations (WIP, OP staging, Receiving, Final Audit), adhering to established protocol for container heights
Stage and organize WIP
Dispose of scrap into the appropriate receptacles
Bring raw material and supplies to the press areas and return material to steel receiving
Store drums of coolant and other fluids in appropriate locations on the racks
Weigh and transfer parts to the temporary hold area for proper accounting
Maintain lugger bay organization
Keep aisles, doorways and emergency exits clear
Generate packaging slips and load trucks
Organize and maintain the shop floor in and order manner
Supply production presses with appropriate containers and dunnage to ensure uninterrupted product
Organize and palletize empty coolant barrels
Wrap and stack finished products
Support receiving area, as needed
Support inspection machines (raw parts, packaging materials, etc.)
Stage parts for finishing washers
Maintain FIFO order throughout the shop
Basic computer skills
Learn & utilize our labeling system proficiently to maintain product traceability
Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
Ability to lift 40-60 pounds
Previous Industrial Hilo experience with emphasis on safety and proficiency
Ability to complete paperwork, including some mathematical computations
Current Company Hilo license is active and up to date
Experience on stand-up deep reach Hilo is a plus
