Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Build and update standard cost structures for materials, packaging, labor, and overhead to reflect current operating conditions.
• Review manufacturing results against expected costs, explain variances, and present practical recommendations to improve financial and operational outcomes.
• Contribute to month-end close by preparing cost-related analyses, supporting inventory adjustments, and helping reconcile cost of goods sold.
• Create detailed product cost estimates for new and existing items in partnership with operations and product development teams.
• Work closely with plant personnel to evaluate workflows, yields, waste, downtime, and batch performance in order to identify efficiency gains.
• Monitor key manufacturing metrics and provide reporting that helps leadership address performance gaps and prioritize corrective action.
• Support inventory control through cycle counts, physical inventory participation, movement tracking, and valuation reconciliation within the ERP environment.
• Maintain accurate item master records and refine costing methods to strengthen data quality and reporting reliability.
• Assist with margin analysis, pricing support, and profitability reviews across products, customers, and promotional programs.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, documentation updates, reporting enhancements, and cross-functional projects that support company growth.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field, or comparable industry experience in place of a degree.• At least two years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or manufacturing-related analytics.
• Strong capability in data interpretation, financial review, and problem-solving within a production setting.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
• Working knowledge of budgeting concepts, production reporting, and operational performance measurements.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience extracting and analyzing data from ERP or other business systems.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments, inventory accounting, and applicable quality and safety expectations.
• Authorization to work in the United States and must be eligible to work in the U.S. without current or future visa requirements.
Compensation
