Billing Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk in New Orleans, Louisiana to support accurate invoicing and payment follow-up for our team. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who is organized, comfortable working with billing systems, and able to manage financial records with precision. The role will focus on preparing statements, assisting with collections, and helping maintain documentation that supports billing and audit-related activities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and issue customer invoices and billing statements with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.

• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on past-due accounts to support collection efforts.

• Maintain billing records in the appropriate systems and update account information as needed.

• Review charges, payment activity, and account details to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Assist with documentation and recordkeeping related to grant management and financial tracking.

• Support audit preparation by organizing billing files and providing requested backup materials.

• Coordinate with internal teams to confirm billing information and ensure proper account setup.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience performing billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable-related work.
• Working knowledge of billing systems and the ability to enter and manage data accurately.
• Experience supporting collection activities and tracking open balances.
• Familiarity with preparing billing statements and maintaining organized financial records.
• Understanding of grant-related documentation or financial administration is preferred.
• Ability to support audit requests by gathering and reviewing billing documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and basic computer proficiency.

Compensation

$22.00-$24.00 Hourly
