Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Sarasota, Florida. This position is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced accounting setting and can accurately manage account activity, payment records, and reporting across several platforms. The right candidate will bring strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and advanced Excel skills to help keep receivables organized and collections efforts on track.

Responsibilities:
• Review customer accounts across multiple systems to identify outstanding balances, payment trends, and account discrepancies.
• Prepare and maintain receivables reports by downloading, organizing, and analyzing data for leadership review.
• Apply cash receipts accurately and reconcile payment activity to ensure account records remain current and complete.
• Conduct commercial collections follow-up through timely communication with customers to resolve overdue invoices.
• Support billing-related tasks by verifying invoice details, tracking supporting documentation, and addressing account questions.
• Manage a high volume of invoice and payment records while maintaining accuracy across several screens and applications.
• Use Excel tools such as pivot tables and lookup formulas to organize collections data and produce actionable insights.
• Assist with accounting system activities, including work performed in platforms such as ServiceTitan, Sage Intacct, or similar applications when needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience in accounts receivable, billing, cash application, collections, or closely related accounting support work.
• Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to build pivot tables and use lookup functions to analyze financial data.
• Ability to work efficiently across multiple systems while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage large volumes of invoices, payments, and supporting records.
• Comfortable handling commercial collections activities in a detail-focused and proactive manner.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external customers regarding account issues.
• Experience with accounting software such as ServiceTitan, Sage Intacct, or similar systems is preferred but not required.
