HR Director
Our client in New Britain, Connecticut is seeking an experienced HR Director for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a strategic and hands-on human resources leader who can guide HR operations, support organizational goals, and provide leadership across key people functions.
The HR Director will partner with leadership to oversee core HR initiatives, ensure compliance with employment practices, support employee relations, and help drive effective workforce strategies. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, capable of balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day HR execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight across human resources functions, including employee relations, compliance, performance management, and policy administration
- Partner with executive leadership and department managers on HR strategy, workforce planning, and organizational needs
- Advise management on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and performance concerns
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
- Lead or support HR initiatives related to onboarding, training, retention, and employee engagement
- Evaluate and improve HR processes, policies, and programs to support business objectives
- Oversee HR reporting, documentation, and personnel records management
- Support change management efforts and special HR projects as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive human resources experience, including leadership-level responsibility
- Prior experience in an HR Director, Senior HR Manager, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relations
- Proven ability to partner with leadership and influence decision-making
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is a plus
Compensation
