Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a hospitality-focused organization in Charleston, South Carolina on a Contract basis. This role is well suited to someone who is comfortable handling high-volume data entry while supporting core accounts payable activities with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will help keep invoice processing and payment tasks organized, timely, and aligned with day-to-day accounting needs.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices, enter payment details accurately, and maintain organized records for accounts payable transactions.
• Assign appropriate coding to invoices and verify supporting information before processing for payment.
• Assist with scheduled check runs and help ensure vendor payments are prepared on time.
• Perform high-volume data entry with strong attention to detail to support daily accounting operations.
• Reconcile invoice information against internal documentation and follow up on discrepancies when needed.
• Support the accounts payable workflow by tracking outstanding items and helping maintain timely processing.
• Work within accounting software systems, including Essentials, to update records and manage payment activity.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounts payable or a related accounting support role.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
• Familiarity with invoice coding, invoice processing, and payment support tasks.
• Ability to assist with check runs and maintain organized financial records.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing daily priorities.
• Experience in the hospitality industry is helpful but not required.
• Basic accounting knowledge and confidence using accounting software, including Essentials, are preferred.

Compensation

$18.05-$20.90 Hourly
