Tax Preparer

We are looking for a Tax Preparer to support individual tax filing needs for clients. This is a Contract position suited for someone who can manage returns accurately, work efficiently during busy filing periods, and provide dependable service throughout the engagement. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with personal income tax returns and is comfortable using tax software to complete and review filings.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and complete individual income tax returns with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely submission.
• Review financial records, tax documents, and supporting information to determine proper reporting and identify missing details.
• Communicate with clients to gather required information, clarify tax-related questions, and resolve discrepancies before filing.
• Use tax software to enter data, generate returns, and verify calculations across multiple client files.
• Examine completed returns for errors, inconsistencies, and potential issues before final delivery or submission.
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure tax records are handled securely and in accordance with applicable standards.
• Stay current on relevant individual tax rules and filing requirements to support accurate return preparation.
• Manage multiple tax engagements at once while meeting deadlines during high-volume periods.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience preparing individual tax returns in a tax preparation setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of personal income tax preparation and related filing practices.
• Proficiency with Lacerte Tax Software for return preparation and review.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and incomplete information.
• Effective communication skills for working directly with clients and collecting required documentation.
• Ability to organize workload, prioritize assignments, and meet established deadlines.
• Commitment to handling confidential financial information with discretion and integrity.

Compensation

$23.75-$27.50 Hourly
