Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting tasks for multiple business entities, maintaining accurate records and consistent financial processes.
• Review, code, and process vendor invoices, collect required backup documentation, and help ensure payments are completed on time.
• Reconcile daily revenue activity and deposits, confirming that sales information is properly recorded in the accounting system.
• Complete regular reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger balances to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Support payroll administration by validating time records, tips, benefits-related information, and related account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, analyze variances against budgets and prior periods, and share findings with leadership.
• Submit sales and use tax filings each month in compliance with reporting requirements.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including forecasting, budgeting, and other financial planning support.
• Contribute to administrative and cross-functional needs such as onboarding coordination, benefits support, office supply oversight, and mail handling.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.• At least 4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally supporting multiple entities or small business operations.
• Working knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and strong spreadsheet skills; familiarity with retail or restaurant point-of-sale systems is a plus.
• Understanding of sales tax processes and financial reporting responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail, sound organizational ability, and a consistent approach to meeting deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and partner across departments.
• Sound judgment, integrity, and a flexible mindset to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
