Description

We are Northrop Grumman Australia (NGA). Our 800 strong team is leveraging unparalleled global resources to deliver sovereign Defence capability aligned to the Government’s priorities across Aeronautics, Mission Critical Systems, Space and Guided Weapons. As we build our business and our capabilities, we are also developing a reputation as a great place to work. Help us define what is possible for our nation and for your career.

The Role:

The MQ-4C (Triton Unmanned Aircraft System) team in Edinburgh (SA) is expanding!

Northrop Grumman Australia is actively seeking a Cyber Security Specialist GRC, who will sit at the centre of how the Triton systems are approved, governed and trusted.

You’ll own the process that allows systems to operate, assessing risk, building the security case, and working through Defence authorisation pathways to achieve and maintain ATO.

Triton is a first-of-type ISR platform for the ADF, operating across complex systems and classifications. That means cyber security isn’t a tick-box, it needs to be clearly defined, documented and defensible.

Don’t worry, you won’t be writing policy in isolation. You’ll work closely with engineers and stakeholders to understand how systems actually operate, then translate that into structured, audit-ready security artefacts that stand up to scrutiny.

This role is Adelaide-based (RAAF Edinburgh). Australian Citizenship and NV1 clearance is required to be considered.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll shape how cyber risk is understood, documented and accepted, ensuring systems are approved to operate, and stay that way.

  • Develop and maintain security artefacts supporting Assessment & Authorisation
  • Support system approvals, re-authorisations and changes through the A&A process
  • Conduct risk assessments and clearly present treatment options
  • Manage PoAMs and system risk registers
  • Assess system changes (e.g. upgrades) for security impact
  • Engage with stakeholders and Defence authorities to support approvals

About You

You’re structured and analytical. You like turning complex systems into something clear, defensible and well-documented.

  • Experience in cyber GRC, risk or A&A within Defence, government or regulated environments
  • Strong with security artefacts, assessments and structured documentation
  • Comfortable working with frameworks like ISM or similar
  • Able to understand technical systems, then translate risk in a clear way
  • Confident working with stakeholders to progress approvals and outcomes

You might be:

  • A GRC analyst or specialist looking to step into more ownership
  • Coming from IRAP, Defence or consulting environments
  • In a hybrid role and want to focus more on governance and A&A

What we Offer

We have built our benefits to help you define your possible.

  • Professional Development – further education, leadership development, professional industry memberships and unlimited access to a range of online training
  • Purchased annual leave – 2 weeks
  • Salary packaging including novated car leases
