Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineering Manager 2 – Structural Analysis for the Vehicle Engineering (VE) organization, reporting to the VE Department Manager in Palmdale, CA. This position is a 3/10 1st shift position.
This Section Manager is responsible for providing functional management (people and technical leadership) for a team of structural analysis engineers. The selected candidate will coordinate staffing requirements and support all staffing processes, including reviewing resumes and conducting interviews. The selected candidate will also support the technical oversight of structural analysis packages and act as the focal point for review activities while maintaining positive relations with continued team interaction.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction regarding analysis of both composite and metallic aircraft structures, oversight and direction in enforcing quality of analysis to meet program objectives.
Participate in RCCA as required.
Responsible for ensuring customer requirements regarding structural performance and weight threats are effectively managed within cost and schedule constraints.
Provide technical oversight on structural analysis and ensure effective communication with customer and program leadership.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 7 years of related engineering experience
Minimum 6 years of applicable Stress/Structural Analysis experience working on military or government aircraft projects.
Experience in a technical leadership/management role.
Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment. This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering/Civil Engineering
8 years of applicable Stress/Structural Analysis experience working on military or government aircraft projects
Demonstrated technical leadership and management experience
Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with the customer and program management.
