Data Analyst

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join a contract assignment supporting a high-volume accounting data initiative in Downtown San Diego, California. This role is centered on preparing, reviewing, and organizing large datasets so they can be accurately loaded into Yardi, with a strong emphasis on precision, consistency, and process adherence. The position is best suited for someone who is highly skilled in Excel, comfortable working independently, and able to manage detailed data tasks within project deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Collect accounting-related data from source platforms and organize it for conversion into Yardi-compatible formats.

• Clean, standardize, and structure datasets to align with upload specifications and project rules.

• Compare source information against converted files to verify accuracy and investigate mismatches.

• Research routine data issues, correct inconsistencies, and resolve exceptions within established procedures.

• Carry out conversion activities according to documented workflows and recommend practical refinements when needed.

• Record reconciliation results, data updates, and supporting details to maintain clear project documentation.

• Assist with testing and quality review efforts to confirm data integrity throughout the conversion process.

• Partner with accounting, operations, and project stakeholders to keep deliverables on track and meet target timelines.

• Raise complex accounting or system-related concerns to project leadership for further review and guidance.

Qualifications:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to review and troubleshoot existing formulas.
• Experience analyzing data and resolving discrepancies through reconciliation methods.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of information accurately.
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to follow defined procedures consistently.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a structured work environment.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced contract assignment.
• Prior exposure to accounting or financial data is helpful.
• Familiarity with accounting platforms such as Yardi or Sage 300 is a plus.

Compensation

$20.00-$25.00 Hourly
