Human Resources (HR) Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate personnel files, office documents, and administrative records in an organized and accessible manner.
• Provide day-to-day administrative support for staff members and assist with general office coordination tasks.
• Create, revise, and format forms, reports, and other business documents using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Help prepare, monitor, and submit union-related reporting documentation with a high level of accuracy.
• Support onboarding activities, screening coordination, and routine HR data entry as needed.
• Answer inbound phone calls, direct inquiries appropriately, and provide detail-oriented front-line administrative assistance.
• Assist with filing, record updates, and special clerical projects assigned by office leadership.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of administrative experience, preferably in a human resources or office support environment.• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel for document preparation and data tracking.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage records and complete tasks accurately.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with a detail-oriented and team-focused approach.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a busy setting.
• Experience with HR administration, onboarding, background checks, or HRIS systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with filing systems, data entry, and union-related documentation is an asset.
Compensation
