Sr. Financial Analyst
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst to support financial operations for a Financial Services organization. This fully remote, Contract-to-hire opportunity is suited for someone who is detail oriented and brings strong accounting insight, IT capital expenditure knowledge, and advanced financial reporting capabilities. The role will contribute to accurate analysis, reporting, and oversight of capitalized spend while partnering with internal teams to strengthen financial decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze financial results and prepare recurring and ad hoc reports to support planning, forecasting, and executive decision-making.
• Review capital expenditures and capitalization activity to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and aligned with accounting guidance.
• Partner with accounting and business stakeholders to monitor project spend, track capital budgets, and explain financial variances.
• Produce financial reporting packages using Lawson and Hyperion Financial Reporting, ensuring data integrity and timely delivery.
• Support month-end and period-end close activities related to fixed assets, capital projects, and associated reconciliations.
• Evaluate accounting treatment for technical transactions and provide clear documentation for complex financial matters.
• Maintain reporting models and improve analytical processes to increase accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
• Assist with year-end financial activities, including reporting support and analysis tied to capital and accounting records.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience working as a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst or in a closely related finance role.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles, particularly in areas involving capital expenditures and capitalization.
• Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and communicate insights to cross-functional partners and build strong business partner relationships.
• Experience in technical accounting research, writing memos and implementing new pronouncements.
• Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial topics clearly.
