Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a team in Otsego, Michigan, where accuracy, organization, and clear communication are highly valued. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining reliable financial records, and supporting smooth business operations. The right candidate will bring strong bookkeeping knowledge and confidence working across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily bookkeeping tasks to keep financial records complete, accurate, and up to date.

• Process vendor invoices and payments while maintaining organized accounts payable documentation.

• Prepare customer billing, record incoming payments, and monitor accounts receivable activity.

• Reconcile bank statements, account balances, and ledger entries to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Support month-end close activities by reviewing transactions and assisting with financial reporting.

• Maintain the general ledger by posting entries and verifying supporting financial data.

• Enter and update accounting information in bookkeeping systems with a high level of accuracy.

• Use Excel and QuickBooks to track transactions, prepare reports, and support routine accounting operations.

Qualifications:

• Previous bookkeeping experience with responsibility for both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Proficiency in account and bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of general ledger processes and basic financial reporting.
• Experience using QuickBooks for bookkeeping and transaction management.
• Solid Microsoft Excel skills for organizing data and producing financial information.
• Strong data entry accuracy and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.

Compensation

$55,000.00-$68,000.00 Yearly
