Payroll Clerk
Responsibilities:
• Administer weekly payroll for approximately 1,700 employees across several work locations, ensuring all payments are completed on schedule.
• Review, maintain, and update payroll information, including hours worked, pay rates, organizational assignments, and deductions, with a high degree of accuracy.
• Monitor payroll practices for adherence to applicable wage laws, tax requirements, and court-ordered deductions such as garnishments.
• Partner with Paylocity to support payroll tax filing activities and assist with annual reporting documents, including W-2 and 1099 preparation.
• Address employee payroll questions promptly, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues in a thorough and timely manner.
• Coordinate direct deposit changes, process special payroll requests, and prepare final payments for departing employees.
• Produce payroll reports and supporting documentation for audits, reconciliations, and internal review needs.
• Contribute to year-end payroll activities and provide assistance with related processes managed through Paylocity.
Qualifications:
• Experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment with strong attention to accuracy and deadlines.• Working knowledge of payroll compliance, including taxes, wage and hour requirements, and garnishment administration.
• Proficiency with payroll software, preferably Paylocity, along with strong data entry and record maintenance skills.
• Ability to review timekeeping information and payroll inputs to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to employee questions and sensitive payroll matters.
• Experience supporting onboarding-related payroll setup, compensation updates, and direct deposit administration.
• Proficiency in generating payroll reports and maintaining documentation for audit or internal review purposes.
Compensation
