Job Summary

The Mill Machinist at Triumph Geared Solutions - Macomb is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of Mill machines in the Mill Department. The Mill Machinist must be able to produce high-quality products according to Triumph Gear Systems Mill Department operations manual.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Clock in & out of appropriate job operations
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Adhere to job plans per job travelers
  • Set-up multiple types of jobs
  • Operate all mills and associated machines as assigned
  • Basic Maintenance of mills
  • First part quality inspections
  • Use precision measurement equipment
  • Consistently produce quality parts
  • Adhere to directions and instructions of direct supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years’ experience with set-up and operation of CNC Mill
  • Knowledgeable of set-up requirements and operation of a horizontal and vertical CNC milling equipment
  • Must be capable of reading blueprints, and manage job orders to required specifications
  • Familiar with Fanuc controls and concepts of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, or stretching
  • Work may require bending, carrying, lifting up to 25 pounds, pulling, pushing, and standing.   
  • Assistance is required for lifting over 25 pounds.
