Function of Position:
This position reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and participates in the development and execution of a comprehensive admissions and student recruitment program, with specific emphasis on building relationships to increase the enrollment of traditional and adult students.
This position will require the Advisor/Recruiter to meet and exceed predetermined enrollment goals.
Primary Functions:
- Converts inquiries to applications to enrolled, using predetermined goals.
- Provides admissions, academic, and financial aid advisement to prospective students, creating a seamless transition from inquiry to enrollment.
- Offers admission appointments/presentations/workshops at all campus locations and off-site partner agencies, including high schools, community agencies, and other locations, promoting MCC.
- Evaluates and makes decisions on applications for admission, assists with evaluating transfer credit and math and English placement, and is responsible for applications from the assigned territory.
- Travels to high schools, community events, college fairs, parent nights, and more for recruitment.
- Participates in planning events such as Open House and Admitted Student Day.
- Participates in outbound calling to prospective and accepted students.
- Maintains familiarity with the College's non-credit offerings.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the College's entrance requirements, special populations, curriculum, and transfer and placement outcomes of degree programs.
- Assists with and uses technology and software systems that support the effective/efficient management of the College's initiatives in the areas of recruitment, marketing, and admissions processing.
- Assumes other assignments as delegated by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Earned an Associate's degree or above from a regionally-accredited higher education institution
- Knowledge of the philosophy of the community college
- Evidence of effective communication skills (interpersonal, speaking, and writing)
- Valid driver's license and insurance
- Willingness to travel to assigned recruitment events within Monroe and the surrounding counties and across New York State
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as designated by supervisor
- Evidence of a team-centered approach to problem solving
- Commitment to service at the institution
- Commitment to continued professional growth
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting a multicultural environment on campus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a college admissions office
- Experience with student information systems
- Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
Additional Information:
Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity, and college budget. This position has a range of $42,000 to $45,000 and is based on these mentioned factors.

This position involves primarily sedentary work, including prolonged periods of computer use and keyboarding. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Occasional travel between campus buildings or to other local or out-of-town locations for meetings or conferences may be required.
