Calibrations Lab Technician

- Maintains a Clean and Organized Lab at the Ipsen Vacuum Furnace Center of Excellence located in Cherry Valley, IL.
- Coordinates equipment Calibrations, and equipment deliveries to the various regions upon request from Ipsen’s regional service Technicians.
- Responsible for calibration of all electronics/instruments at Ipsen USA to include production and customer service.
- Supports Ipsen’s customers and field service teams as the calibrations SME answering technical questions and assisting in troubleshooting of calibrations issues.
- Required to Source many TC types, MV signals, Voltage simulations, and much more.
- Maintain/coordinate repairs, calibration certification, and components of Calibrated Service Equipment.
- Maintain Field Service Engineer (FSE) equipment log and Inventory.
- Assists with the development of new Work Instructions/Process improvements within the calibration or Field Service Department.
- Assist the service team with the development of new calibration processes/techniques/tools to help support calibrations performance and yearly goals.
- Conduct training of field service team on calibration documentation and work instructions to include training materials, shortcuts, process improvement, document updates, and training events.
- Identifies challenges/hurdles Ipsen faces with regards to calibrations, provides solutions, and recommendations to address them. Work with Management team to implement.
- Possess strong attention to detail, accurately maintaining records and files.
- Ability to read and understand electrical prints.
- Ability to use advanced calibrations electronic equipment.
- Possess strong math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the desire to assist others.
- Ability to work safely and follow all safety protocols when in the lab or at customer sites.
- Possess strong computer skills including MS Office.
- Possesses knowledge, or ability to thoroughly learn, how a vacuum furnace operates and how Calibrations fit into the big picture of furnace operations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.
- Advanced education or related technical training beyond high school is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working with Calibration equipment, familiarity with AMS 2750 systems is required.
- Prior experience working in industrial maintenance capacity strongly desired.

Description:
The Lab Technician for Ipsen is responsible for maintaining and coordinating Ipsen Field Service team equipment to support calibration needs. The Lab Technician will keep the field service team supplied with certified calibration kits and all necessary auxiliary equipment to complete onsite calibration jobs. This position also supports the Ipsen field service team with remote support for all calibrations, temperature uniformity, and calibration documentation. The lab technician will also be responsible for keeping up with the latest technical data, maintaining Ipsen’s subject matter expert (SME) status in the ever-changing calibrations field. This position will have a good understanding of the ISO 17025, AMS 2750, and other technical references required to understand the impact on Ipsen, and our customers.
