Function/Duties of Position

Under direct supervision, primarily provides general administrative support for a project, team, or work unit. Similar to an Office Clerk or Specialist*. May also include some basic data entry and report generation. Create study models and casts (using dental gypsum products) to be used by preclinical instructors/students in simulation lab courses in Restorative Dentistry. 

 

Perform basic activities relating to the creation of dental study casts and models that are used by predoctoral dental students in their simulation lab courses. The work is consistent with basic dental laboratory work. 

 

The work is done on an as needed basis as directed by the faculty directors of courses in the Restorative Dentistry preclinical curriculum.

Perform additional, occasional tasks as directed by the Pre-clinic Program Director and Department Chair, such as investigate alternative materials for creating model, etc.


Required Qualifications
  • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in a Graduate Program with a minimum of 4.5 credit hours
  • Must have experience using dental laboratory equipment
  • Must have great communication skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Duties to be performed during the off-hours of the predoctoral simulation lab, inclusive of before class/clinic starts, between class/clinic sessions, or after class/clinic ends
  • Universal precautions for Infection Control are to be practiced
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
