Job purpose

The AR/Billing Specialist is responsible for invoicing, collections, and cash application, with a strong focus on construction billing practices including AIA documentation and progress billing.

Essential responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Prepare and submit invoices (progress, T&M, milestone billing)
  • Complete and manage AIA billing (G702/G703)
  • Track retainage and contract billing requirements
  • Ensure all supporting documentation is included with invoices
  • Monitor AR aging and follow up on past-due accounts
  • Apply cash receipts and reconcile AR balances
  • Work with project managers to resolve billing issues
  • Maintain accurate billing records in the system
  • Assist with lien waivers and compliance documentation
  • Adhere to all company safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
  • Regular and prompt attendance and punctuality.
  • Working long hours may be required to meet business needs and is considered an essential function of this position.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have expert abilities in Excel and PowerBI
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership abilities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects in a hectic environment while meeting deadlines
  • Stress resilient

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Required:
    • 3–5+ years of AR or Billing experience
    • AIA Billing experience
    • Construction billing and collections experience
  • Preferred:
    • Business Central ERP experience
    • Low-voltage / contracting industry experience
