Overview:

TheSr Planner, Transportation Planningleads multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex transportation planning projects, ensuring innovative solutions thatmovepeople and goods across diverse settings.The ideal candidate would also have experience in preparingfederal environmental documents for transportation projects.This role drives business development, manages client relationships, andmentorsearly careerstaff, directly contributing to the companys growth and reputation for excellence in infrastructure planning.

What you will do:

  • Conduct business development to secure new clients and projects.
  • Retain and manage relationships with existing clients and external stakeholders.
  • Respond to RFPs and build teams internally and with partner firms.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams on complextransportation planningprojects, managing multipleprojects,and teams on time-sensitive schedules.
  • Develop solutions for moving people and goodsbyvarious modes (car, bus, train, bicycle, foot) in rural, suburban, and urban contexts.
  • Solve complex transportation problems using professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
  • Apply transportation methods, planning principles, and standard industry evaluations and analyses.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder, agency, and partner engagement and communication strategies.
  • Prepare deliverables such as reports, memos, technical analyses, engagement content, visions and goals, policies, implementation and phasing plans, and other client-identified items.
  • Leador overseemultidisciplinaryteams in preparinggrant applications and provide guidance onrelevant funding resourcesfor projects.
  • Develop content and strategy for federal environmental documentsfor transportation projects. This includes preparing purpose and need statements,developing and refining evaluating criteria, and conductingalternativesanalyses.
  • Mentor and trainearly careerstaff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • Education:
  • Bachelors degree in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field from an accredited program.
  • Experience:
  • At least 10 years of experience in multimodal transportation planning/urban designand/or federal environmental documentation.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)certification and/orProfessional Engineer (PE)license.
  • Software:
  • Microsoft Suite Products (e.g.Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive,etc).
  • Working Conditions/Schedule/Location:
  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed,up to five days per week,as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.
  • Occasional travel or field visits may berequiredto support project needs or stakeholder collaboration.

PreferredQualifications

  • Education:
  • Masters degree in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field from an accredited program preferred.
