Overview

In partnership with the Director of Communications, develop a unified communications strategy for NYU Gallatins media channels, with a large focus on social media. Strategize, develop, produce, and disseminate communications through social media, print, and digital mediums, including those currently used and those that are emergent in the industry and accessible for Gallatin use. Manage and produce The Weekly newsletter. Support and work toward editorial ownership of executive communications. Collaborate with the Events team to strategize and produce event promotion and support real-time event marketing. Provide editorial and design support of all communications within Gallatin. Help ensure quality and consistency—focusing on news, bios, events, and review of all internal and external text about Gallatin for multiple audiences. Consult and collaborate closely with faculty and students to learn more about their research and awards and strategize development, production, and sharing of this information with the community. Track and archive all news and updates as needed. Support the Director of Communications, especially with all print publication planning and development, and guide direction of major print pieces year-round.

Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Humanities

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree Arts and Humanities, journalism, digital media, or other fields of writing OR high level of output in print or digital.

Required Experience:
3+ years relevant experience in communications or a similar field involving intensive social media and digital curation, writing and editing, storytelling, including copyediting and the preparation of materials for print publications and digital platforms.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrable high-impact experience managing and producing social media content; excellent command of the English language and grammar; excellent editing and writing skills, and organizational, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Goal-oriented and knowledge of project management methods and techniques. High-level social media curation (strategy, production, dissemination, analysis). Design experience across platforms (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)


Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $81,000.00 to USD $99,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
