Treyarch is looking for an experienced, self-driven, highly imaginative, and versatile Senior Concept Artist to join our team!
You’ll be joining a team of world-class concept artists in working on one of the most successful videogame franchises of all time, where you will be responsible for driving the look and feel of environments using your creativity, and through your traditional and digital illustration skills.

This role is based in our Playa Vista, CA office and follows an onsite work schedule of four days per week. Work arrangements may change at the company's discretion to meet business needs.
What you’ll do…
- Define and drive the visual direction for environments through high-impact concept art, including key art, 3D block-outs, renders, and 2D paint-overs.
- Translate ideas into clear, production-ready visuals that align teams and elevate the overall player experience.
- Paint over and refine 3D geometry to rapidly iterate and communicate design intent.
- Partner closely with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure concepts are compelling, actionable, and aligned with gameplay goals.
- Immerse yourself in the game—leveraging documentation, playtesting, and collaboration—to deliver informed, best-in-class visuals.
- Mentor and inspire the concept team, raising the bar for quality, creativity, and process.
To succeed you should have…
- 8+ years’ experience working as a professional concept artist in game development or film.
- A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional concept art and visual storytelling with an emphasis on realistic environments.
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Blender and Photoshop, with the ability to create highly polished, realistic environments.
- A strong understanding of the current industry advancements in techniques and tools, coupled with the ability to create content.
- Strong command of artistic fundamentals including composition, perspective, scale, lighting, and color.
- Versatility across sketching, rendering, matte painting, and visual design, with the judgment to balance quality and speed.
- Deep understanding of architecture, world-building, and environmental design.
- Ability to accurately depict a wide range of materials, surfaces, and moods.
- Track record of delivering high-quality work on time in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with strong research and reference-gathering skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; thrives working across teams and disciplines.
- Proactive, adaptable, and open to feedback, with the confidence to contribute ideas and push creative boundaries.
- Strong understanding of how concept art supports gameplay and production needs.
- Passion for quality and a drive to continuously improve.
- Comfortable learning new tools, including proprietary game development pipelines.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
