Northrop Grumman Defense Systems, Platform Systems Modernization (PSM) Operating Unit (OU) is seeking a Level 4 Quality Inspector to join our team at our Lake Charles, LA facility. Our team provides customers with support Special Mission Aircraft (SMA) heavy maintenance and modifications. This business area focuses on the support, design, analysis, modification, integration, ground and flight testing, airworthiness certification, and logistics support of airborne ISR platforms that are primarily highly modified commercial-derivative aircraft. This includes both Mission Equipment Package (MEP) Support, Platform Maintenance, and Platform/System Modification
**This position will be hired for any shift.
Your duties will include:
- Inspects detail parts and assemblies for the aerospace industry.
- Inspect sup-assemblies such as wings, flight controls, floor panels, trailers, etc.
- Rechecks work after adjustment or repair.
- Monitor and verify special processes such as heat treat, shot peening, chemical conversion coating, painting, priming, plating, and welding.
- Will run CMM on daily basis.
- Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate, update and maintain QMS policies and procedures to accommodate ever-changing business conditions
- Host and coordinate with the external QMS certification agency during the annual QMS certification audit
- Support audit coordination as applicable including strategy, logistics and execution in order to achieve smooth and successful audit processes
- Responsible for the internal audit program and ensuring all action items are processed in a timely manner compliant with processes and regulations
- Facilitate audit-finding owners to ensure all required implementation activity is completed correctly, and on time and in accordance with procedures
- Assist in processing MRB and Corrective Actions with focus on performance trends and timely closure
- Analyze and present performance results relating to Quality Assurance for visibility in areas of weakness needing improvement to drive operational excellence
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 10 of relevant experience.
- Ability to run CMM to achieve FAIR data in specific reporting detail.
- Experience analyzing engineering drawings to extract and apply GD&T standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suit.
- Ability to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours.
- Ability to change physical locations based upon need (including physical ability to travel).
- Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
- Ability to work/change shifts based on the needs of the program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and proficiency in Zeiss CMM
- Experience and proficiency in Calypso software
- Worked in ISO 9001 facility supporting QMS program
- AWS QC1 certified welding inspector
