Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Integrated Product Team Lead (IPT) to join our team in Dulles, VA or McLean, VA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

This role has the authority to make engineering project management decisions and recommendations that have an impact on new business, program performance, design, development, and mission operations. This role reports to the program Engineering PM (EPM) and works with the program Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer (LSE)/Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Lead, and the Program Management Office (PMO) to deliver on program and stakeholder commitments. 

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In this job, you will:

  • Deliver on all product team deliverables within cost and schedule, while meeting contractual programmatic and technical requirements and stakeholder expectations 
  • Utilize Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to analyze work progress, address variances, and appropriately react to ensure successful program performance  
  • Conduct thorough risk & opportunity management practices  
  • Update the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and time phased labor/material spreads for accurate cost/schedule reporting 
  • Ensure Engineering and Program processes, company policies, and industry best standards are followed for efficient executionand auditable compliance 
  • Deploy rigorous scope management, adhering to the Statement of Work (SOW), and facilitating changes with program leadership and task level teams 
  • Coordinate staffing plans with engineering functional management, verify appropriate skill mix for work scope, and address conflicting resource issues 
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Global Supply Chain to manage suppliers and material to achieve product team deliverables   
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Manufacturing & Operations and Integration and Test to support build and I&T of IPT subsystems and products

This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 10 years of professional experience or PhD with 8 years of professional experience  
  • Requires an active U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
  • 2 years of experience in Project Management roles such as Control Account Manager (CAM), IPT Lead, and/or Project/Program Manager   
  • 2 years of leading engineering teams through development/design programs 
  • 1 year of experience using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) on programs 
  • Experience with at least one phase of the lifecycle of spacecraft development, build, and operations or related product development experience  

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 4 years of experience in Project Management roles such as Control Account Manager (CAM), IPT Lead, and/or Project/Program Manager   
  • Full product lifecycle experience (proposal, design, build, integration, test, launch, operations)  
  • Expert in Earned Value Management System 
  • Control account management and/or technical leadership over work scope ≥ $25M  
  • Demonstrated success in program cost/schedule baselining and Estimate at Complete (EAC) management 
  • Subcontracts/supplier management experience 
  • Active TS/SCI or Active TS clearance with existing program accesses

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
