Financial Aid Analyst/Specialist
We are looking for a Financial Aid Specialist to support student aid operations in Sanford, FL. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for a detail-focused individual who can manage documentation, interpret aid policies, and provide responsive support to students and internal partners. The role will contribute to efficient financial aid processing, accurate recordkeeping, and timely resolution of outstanding items while maintaining compliance with applicable guidelines.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate student financial aid files, confirm supporting documents, and process materials accurately and on schedule.
• Assist with appeal workflows, including satisfactory academic progress reviews, and help ensure each case is documented appropriately.
• Update and maintain student records with a high level of accuracy while following institutional, state, and federal requirements.
• Support aid packaging, revisions, and other award-related activities based on eligibility and documentation status.
• Address questions from students and staff regarding aid eligibility, application status, missing items, and next steps.
• Track deadlines, identify incomplete files, and follow up to help move applications and reviews to completion.
• Contribute to project-based assignments during high-volume periods, audit preparation, or efforts to reduce processing backlogs.
• Protect sensitive student information and uphold confidentiality standards across all financial aid activities.
Qualifications:
• 1–3 years of experience working in financial aid administration or a closely related student services environment.• Working knowledge of financial aid regulations, operational policies, and document processing practices.
• Prior exposure to appeal review processes, including satisfactory academic progress cases, is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail and accuracy in record management.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a project-driven work setting.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with students and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with student information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining a high standard of service.
Compensation
