Network Engineer

We are looking for a Network Engineer to support critical infrastructure initiatives in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. This Long-term Contract position focuses on strengthening network resilience, optimizing routing design, and improving overall stability across a data center environment. The ideal candidate brings deep Cisco networking expertise and can translate technical assessments into effective, high-availability solutions while maintaining clear documentation and handoff practices.

Responsibilities:
• Evaluate the existing network environment and identify opportunities to improve architecture, performance, and resiliency.
• Develop and deploy high-availability and failover approaches that reduce service interruption in a data center setting.
• Modify and reorganize IP addressing schemes to align with operational and connectivity requirements.
• Build and support external and internal routing configurations, including BGP-based connectivity strategies.
• Configure and optimize Cisco security and networking platforms to ensure reliable and secure traffic flow.
• Monitor and sustain virtual switching operations to promote strong uptime and consistent service delivery.
• Record network updates, design decisions, and implementation details, and provide technical knowledge transfer to relevant teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to execute network changes with minimal disruption in multi-site or service-driven environments.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated expertise with BGP and related IP routing protocols in complex enterprise or data center networks.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and security technologies, including high-availability configurations.
• Proven success designing and implementing failover solutions for mission-critical network environments.
• Solid background in network architecture, IP routing, and infrastructure optimization.
• Experience supporting Cisco routers, Cisco ASA, and ISP-connected environments.
• Ability to maintain stable network operations while documenting technical changes clearly and accurately.
• Exposure to managed services, multi-tenant environments, SD-WAN, or other modern networking technologies is preferred.
• Relevant networking certifications are a plus.

Compensation

$64.60-$74.80 Hourly
