Director of Billing and Collections
We are looking for an experienced Director of Billing and Collections to lead revenue cycle operations for a third party plan administration organization in the Horsham Pennsylvania area. This role will oversee invoicing, receivables, and collection activities while strengthening accuracy, compliance, and client service across the billing function. The position partners closely with finance, operations, sales, and client-facing teams to improve workflows, support growth, and ensure revenue is captured effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Direct billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and collection operations to ensure timely and accurate revenue processing.
• Oversee fee administration, including ancillary charges and client-specific billing arrangements, while maintaining adherence to internal policies and controls.
• Review aging trends and collection results, address disputed invoices, and drive timely resolution of outstanding balances.
• Guide and develop team leaders responsible for billing and collections staff, promoting accountability, coaching, and consistent service standards.
• Evaluate existing workflows, introduce process enhancements, and establish scalable procedures that improve efficiency and reduce revenue leakage.
• Partner with finance, audit, sales, operations, and client service teams to support compliance efforts and maintain audit readiness.
• Provide operational support for integrating billing and collections activities related to acquired businesses.
• Safeguard sensitive client and company information while reinforcing high standards of accuracy, judgment, and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
• At least 8 years of experience in billing, collections, accounts receivable, or revenue operations leadership.
• Background in retirement services, retirement plan administration, or a broader financial services environment is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of billing models, fee structures, revenue tracking, and client-specific pricing arrangements.
• Experience leading managers and overseeing large operational teams in a performance-driven setting.
• Proven success improving processes, strengthening internal controls, and minimizing financial risk.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with billing or accounting platforms preferred.
• Exposure to acquisition-related integration work and audit support is a plus.
Additional Skills (big plus!):
Administers 401(k), pension, or cash balance plans
Handles compliance testing (ADP/ACP, 410(b), etc.)
Prepares Form 5500s
Performs plan document consulting and amendments
Compensation
