Controller

We’re partnering with a growing organization in the Nashville area that is seeking an Interim Controller to provide hands-on leadership during a transition period. This is a high-impact, short-term engagement supporting the business, with full ownership of the accounting function and visibility to executive leadership.

This role is ideal for a well-rounded accounting and finance professional who thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and can operate independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end close process with a targeted 3-day timeline
• Prepare and post journal entries and complete account reconciliations
• Own all internal and external financial reporting
• Manage lender reporting and related compliance requirements
• Support audit activities and external auditors
• Oversee billing processes and timecard approvals
• Partner on HR and employee benefits administration as needed
• Handle revenue recognition (standard product/unit-based revenue)
• Drive budgeting and forecasting processes
• Maintain and update 13-week cash flow forecasts
• Support ongoing long-range (4-year) financial planning and modeling
• Prepare materials for Board-level reporting
• Assist with corporate tax coordination

Qualifications:

• Strong, well-rounded accounting and finance background with hands-on experience
• Prior audit experience (public accounting or audit-heavy environment)
• Ability to step in quickly and operate independently in a leadership capacity
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred:

• NetSuite experience
• Background in private equity-backed environments
