Receptionist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Receptionist to support front desk operations for an educational environment in Baltimore, Maryland. This Contract position is ideal for someone who creates a welcoming first impression, manages incoming communications efficiently, and keeps daily reception activities organized. The role requires a dependable presence, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle a multi-line phone system in a busy school setting.

Responsibilities:
• Welcome students, visitors, and staff with a courteous and attentive approach while maintaining an orderly reception area.
• Answer and route calls through a multi-line switchboard, ensuring messages are relayed accurately and promptly.
• Provide front desk coverage during assigned hours and support smooth day-to-day office flow.
• Assist guests with sign-in procedures and direct them to the appropriate offices or personnel.
• Respond to routine questions in person and by phone with clear, helpful information.
• Monitor the reception space to ensure it reflects a neat, approachable, and service-oriented environment.
• Coordinate with school personnel to communicate visitor arrivals and other front desk updates as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a receptionist, front desk, or administrative support role.
• Ability to operate a multi-line phone system with confidence and accuracy.
• Strong verbal communication skills and a detail-oriented customer service mindset.
• Comfortable working in an education-based setting and interacting with a wide range of visitors.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to manage assigned contract coverage schedules.
• Basic organizational skills with attention to detail when handling calls, messages, and visitor information.

Compensation

$15.20-$16.00 Hourly
