Academic Advising
Responsibilities:
• Guide employees as they enter and progress through academic programs, helping create a seamless experience from enrollment through completion.
• Maintain consistent outreach through phone, email, CRM platforms, and other communication channels to keep learners informed and engaged.
• Coach participants on goal setting, study strategies, and time management practices that support academic achievement.
• Identify learning obstacles early, recommend practical solutions, and connect individuals with tutoring or other student support services when needed.
• Review academic performance data, discuss progress with learners, and highlight opportunities for improvement before issues escalate.
• Track important dates, completion targets, and program milestones while sending proactive reminders to help employees remain on schedule.
• Hold recurring check-ins to evaluate progress, reinforce accountability, and recognize accomplishments throughout the educational journey.
• Create and present materials or sessions focused on academic success skills, including organization, study habits, and balancing responsibilities.
• Foster productive partnerships with employees, employer contacts, and school representatives to support positive outcomes across programs.
Qualifications:
- Must reside in PST time zone.
- Must be Spanish Bilingual - proficient in reading, writing, and speaking.
- At least 2 years of experience in academic advising, higher education support, academic coaching, or a closely related field.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to build trust across diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate adult learners or non-traditional students toward educational goals.
- Knowledge of common academic support resources and effective approaches for addressing student challenges.
- Comfort using computer programs, CRM systems, and data-tracking tools in an office environment that requires attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance, sound judgment under pressure, and flexibility to work beyond standard hours when business demands require it.
Compensation
