Epicor/Kinetic SME Consultant – Scheduling Platform

We are looking for an experienced Epicor/Kinetic subject matter expert to guide a manufacturing organization in Trafford, Pennsylvania as it strengthens its scheduling capabilities within Kinetic. This Long-term Contract position will focus on aligning system functionality with operational needs in a low-volume, high-mix job shop environment, helping teams move toward a more automated and reliable production scheduling process. The consultant will serve as both a technical and business-facing partner, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to improve visibility into capacity, due-date performance, and scheduling efficiency while favoring standard platform capabilities whenever practical.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the evaluation and optimization of Epicor/Kinetic scheduling processes to support a complex make-to-order manufacturing operation.
• Partner with stakeholders across engineering, operations, purchasing, project management, quality, accounting, and leadership to define practical scheduling strategies within the ERP environment.
• Configure and refine scheduling-related structures such as resources, labor availability, working calendars, material dependencies, and subcontracting considerations.
• Advise the business on how to organize jobs, assemblies, and operational data so the scheduling engine can produce more accurate and useful results.
• Develop dashboards, reporting views, and decision-support tools that provide insight into capacity, workload timing, and available-to-promise hours.
• Assess supply and demand priorities, critical path impacts, and schedule margin considerations to improve on-time delivery performance.
• Provide onsite and remote consulting support, including an extended onsite presence during key phases of the engagement.
• Recommend approaches that maximize standard Kinetic functionality while limiting unnecessary customization.
• Support database-related updates and data migration activities through approved tools when required to improve scheduling accuracy and system performance.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated expertise with Epicor/Kinetic in a manufacturing setting, especially in scheduling or production planning initiatives.
• Proven experience implementing or enhancing scheduling capabilities in a job shop or other low-volume, high-mix production environment.
• Strong techno-functional knowledge of Kinetic, including both business process application and underlying system configuration.
• Solid understanding of how resource setup, material lead times, inventory factors, subcontract timelines, and labor availability influence scheduling outcomes.
• Ability to create custom dashboards, reports, and analytical views within the Epicor/Kinetic ecosystem.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional business teams and translating operational requirements into effective ERP solutions.
• Willingness and ability to work onsite in Trafford, Pennsylvania for extended periods during critical stages of the project.
• Background in enterprise application integration or related ERP-connected environments is preferred.
