Telecommunications Engineer
Responsibilities:
• Design, configure, and improve enterprise telephony and unified communications environments to align with operational and business needs.
• Administer voice messaging platforms and related communication systems, including upgrades, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Diagnose and resolve advanced issues involving wired and wireless telephony equipment as well as associated network components.
• Develop technical standards, implementation documentation, process flows, and engineering recommendations for convergence and communications solutions.
• Coordinate software and hardware deployments, change plans, testing activities, and implementation schedules for telecommunications initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records for telecommunications assets, including equipment, spare parts, and critical supplies.
• Partner with users, stakeholders, and vendors to translate business needs into practical technical designs and system requirements.
• Provide guidance and training to end users and support team members on telecommunications tools, systems, and best practices.
• Deliver third-level support and participate in on-call coverage as needed to ensure continuity of communications services.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience designing, configuring, administering, and supporting voice and data communications systems.• Demonstrated expertise in telecommunications engineering, including hosted voice technologies and Avaya platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of unified communications, voice messaging systems, and converged voice/data environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot moderate to highly complex telephony and networking issues with a methodical, analytical approach.
• Experience creating technical documentation such as system designs, procedures, test plans, and change implementation plans.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to support users with varied levels of technical knowledge.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently while contributing to broader team objectives.
Compensation
