Accounts Payable Clerk
Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices for completeness, assign the appropriate coding, and enter payment details accurately into the accounting system.
• Process vendor invoices in a timely manner while verifying supporting documentation and resolving discrepancies before payment is issued.
• Prepare and assist with scheduled check runs to help ensure vendors are paid according to agreed terms.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records, including invoice files and related documentation such as lien waivers.
• Communicate with internal teams and external vendors to answer payment questions and follow up on outstanding items.
• Reconcile payable transactions and identify inconsistencies so issues can be corrected promptly.
• Support ongoing process updates within the payable function when needed, including adjustments tied to system or workflow changes.
• Help uphold internal controls by following established procedures for approvals, documentation, and payment processing.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.• Hands-on experience coding invoices and processing high-volume payables with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with check runs, invoice verification, and payment documentation procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-moving office environment.
• Working knowledge of lien waivers and their use in payment processing is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Basic proficiency with accounting systems and standard office software used for financial tracking and reporting.
