Administrative Assistant
We are looking for a Case Manager to support a legal team in Richmond, Va. This contract to hire opportunity is ideal for someone who is highly organized, communicates clearly, and can keep case-related information accurate and current in a fast-paced office setting. The person in this role will help coordinate case activity, maintain documentation, and provide timely updates to attorneys, supervisors, and clients while ensuring work stays on track.
Responsibilities:
• Support attorneys and case leadership by coordinating assigned case activity and helping keep matters aligned with established timelines and action plans.
• Monitor outstanding items with external parties to help move cases forward and secure required documentation in a timely manner.
• Communicate case progress to clients and internal team members, providing clear updates and escalating concerns when delays may affect deadlines.
• Prepare, review, and proofread correspondence and basic legal documents with close attention to accuracy, grammar, and completeness.
• Maintain organized case files by copying, uploading, and tracking required records so documentation remains current and easy to access.
• Manage a high-volume caseload in partnership with the lead case manager, using case management software to update daily tasks and record status changes.
• Participate in regular meetings with department leaders to review file activity, discuss priorities, and report on case developments.
• Provide coverage for teammates and handle additional administrative or legal support duties as needed to maintain workflow continuity.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in administrative support, office coordination, legal support, or a related role.• Ability to manage a large volume of active files while maintaining strong organization and consistent follow-through.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear correspondence and proofread for accuracy.
• Comfortable using data entry systems, case management platforms, and standard office software in a detail-driven environment.
• Customer service mindset with the ability to respond appropriately to clients, attorneys, and internal staff.
• High level of discretion and commitment to handling confidential client and firm information appropriately.
• Familiarity with legal terminology, legal documentation, or law office procedures is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, identify potential issues early, and communicate solutions when priorities shift.
Compensation
