HR Specialist
We are looking for an experienced HR Specialist to join an organization in Richmond, Virginia in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position will support a shared services environment by handling a blend of core HR casework and higher-level employee support needs as responsibilities evolve. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment and the presence of an experienced HR specialist, along with the flexibility to grow into broader ownership as business needs expand. This is a fully remote position.
Responsibilities:
• Provide guidance to employees and people leaders on HR matters, including policy application, workplace concerns, and issue resolution.
• Manage a queue of HR cases with accuracy and urgency, ensuring each matter is documented, researched, and resolved appropriately.
• Partner with legal, payroll, technology, and other internal teams to maintain compliant and consistent HR practices.
• Contribute to process enhancements that improve service delivery, team efficiency, and the overall employee experience.
• Create practical resources, training content, and support tools that strengthen HR knowledge across the organization.
• Review trends in HR inquiries and prepare reports that highlight risks, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support HR systems and case management activities, including work performed in platforms such as Workday, Salesforce, and SharePoint.
• Assist with onboarding, employee relations matters, and other HR administration activities in a regulated environment.
• Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure dependable service and accountability
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.• At least 3 years of HR experience with demonstrated strength in employee support, case management, and service-oriented problem solving.
• Strong knowledge of HR administration, onboarding, employee relations, and HRIS-supported processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise employees and managers at multiple levels of the organization.
• Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-moving environment while exercising sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Experience working with HR technology and case management tools such as Workday, Salesforce, and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with compliance-sensitive environments, including HIPAA-regulated settings, is preferred.
Compensation
