Accounting & Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a dependable Accounting & Payroll Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations in Salem, Ohio. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is designed for someone who is detail-oriented and can work effectively in a part-time capacity, with an expected schedule of one day per week, while maintaining accurate records and dependable payroll and accounting support. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys working independently and bringing strong organization to a small business finance environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage vendor invoices and oversee the accounts payable process to ensure payments are recorded and completed on time.
• Administer payroll accurately and maintain related records while handling sensitive compensation information with discretion.
• Compile monthly financial statements and supporting reports to help track business performance and maintain organized documentation.
• Reconcile account activity and resolve discrepancies through routine bookkeeping review and careful follow-up.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy to support reliable reporting.
• Assist with accounts receivable and transaction tracking as needed to keep financial records current and complete.
• Maintain orderly files and documentation for payroll, invoices, and other accounting records to support ongoing reporting needs.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar finance support role.
• Hands-on background in accounts payable, payroll processing, and monthly financial reporting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence working within computerized accounting systems.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable, invoice processing, and data entry best practices.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work consistently.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and stay productive in a part-time role.
• Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential payroll and financial information.

Compensation

$20.90-$24.20 Hourly
