Tableau Developer

We are looking for a Tableau Developer to support long-term client initiatives by turning complex data into clear, actionable dashboards. This is a Long-term Contract position based in Illinois, ideal for someone who can work closely with stakeholders, interpret business needs, and deliver high-quality reporting solutions with minimal oversight. The right candidate will bring strong SQL and Tableau expertise, along with the analytical ability to validate data quality and recognize potential issues within commercial data sets, particularly in pharma or life sciences environments.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather reporting needs, clarify dashboard objectives, and translate ideas into effective visualization solutions.
• Design, build, and refine Tableau dashboards that present operational, interactive, and performance metrics in a clear and useful format.
• Develop dashboard features independently using provided guidance, mockups, or wireframes while maintaining consistency and usability.
• Query, analyze, and troubleshoot data using SQL to support dashboard development and investigate unexpected reporting results.
• Review underlying data for accuracy, completeness, and potential anomalies before incorporating it into reporting outputs.
• Enhance existing Tableau assets by improving functionality, presentation, and responsiveness to evolving project requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure reporting deliverables align with client expectations and business goals.
• Apply proactive problem-solving skills to identify risks, resolve reporting issues, and improve the overall reliability of dashboard solutions.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of hands-on Tableau development experience with the ability to create dashboards with limited supervision.
• Strong experience building and enhancing dashboards for client-facing or project-based reporting environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SQL for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
• Ability to gather business requirements directly from stakeholders and convert them into practical dashboard designs.
• Experience working with dashboard metrics, including interactive, operational, and reporting-focused visualizations.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to detect data issues and investigate inconsistencies during dashboard development.
• Background supporting pharma or life sciences commercial data sets is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently, stay proactive, and manage priorities effectively within a long-term contract engagement.

Compensation

$61.75-$71.50 Hourly
