Accounts Receivable Clerk

Compensation: $20.90 to $24.20 Hourly

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join an agriculture-focused organization in Firebaugh, California on a Contract basis. This role is suited for someone who can keep receivables organized, apply incoming payments accurately, and maintain steady follow-up with commercial customers to support healthy cash flow. The ideal candidate brings practical experience in billing, collections, and account reconciliation while working carefully with purchase orders, customer records, and aging activity.

Responsibilities:
• Process customer invoices, post receivable activity, and maintain accurate account balances across daily transactions.
• Apply incoming payments promptly and resolve discrepancies by reviewing remittance details, supporting documents, and account history.
• Conduct commercial collections with careful attention to detail, following up on overdue balances and documenting communication with customers.
• Prepare and review aging reports to identify past-due accounts, highlight collection priorities, and support cash recovery efforts.
• Reconcile account records by comparing invoices, payments, credits, and purchase orders to ensure billing accuracy.
• Support billing operations by issuing invoices, verifying charges, and correcting errors that may delay payment.
• Use QuickBooks and related systems to update receivable data, track collection progress, and maintain reliable financial records.
• Partner with internal teams to answer customer billing questions, research payment issues, and help resolve outstanding items efficiently.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, cash application, or commercial collections.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, payment posting, and account reconciliation.
• Experience handling commercial collection activity and communicating effectively with customers regarding outstanding balances.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence using accounting or financial systems to manage records accurately.
• Ability to generate and interpret aging reports to monitor receivables and prioritize follow-up actions.
• Familiarity with purchase orders, billing documentation, and maintaining detailed account records.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a Contract role.

Compensation

$20.90-$24.20 Hourly
