Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations for a long-term contract position based in Maryland. This role is ideal for someone who can maintain accurate records, contribute to timely close activities, and help keep accounting processes running smoothly. The position offers the opportunity to work across core accounting functions while using Sage Intacct in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post accounting entries to ensure financial records remain complete and accurate.
• Perform account and bank reconciliations, researching discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Support monthly closing activities by reviewing balances, organizing supporting documentation, and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Process vendor invoices and payment activities while maintaining accurate accounts payable records.
• Monitor incoming payments, apply cash receipts, and follow up on outstanding balances within accounts receivable.
• Maintain the general ledger by verifying transactions and ensuring proper classification of financial activity.
• Use Sage Intacct to manage routine accounting tasks, generate financial information, and support reporting needs.

Qualifications:

• Experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions in an accounting environment with strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of general ledger activity, including preparing and reviewing journal entries.
• Ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and investigate variances effectively.
• Familiarity with month-end close procedures and related accounting documentation.
• Hands-on experience using Sage Intacct for day-to-day accounting processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Compensation

$23.75-$27.50 Hourly
