Tax Director/Manager - Corporate
We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented tax specialist/or Tax Manager to lead corporate and individual tax work while supporting complex filings for a diverse client base in California. This position is suited for someone who combines strong technical tax knowledge with a careful, analytical approach and confidence working with financial data. The ideal candidate brings broad experience across corporate and individual taxation, stays organized under deadlines, and uses technology effectively to deliver accurate, timely results.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the preparation and review of corporate and individual tax filings, including returns for S corporations and C corporations, while maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Manage annual income tax provision activities and support related reporting requirements for corporate entities.
• Prepare and review individual tax returns, including work involving high-net-worth taxpayers and more complex financial situations.
• Handle estate and related tax filings with careful attention to documentation, deadlines, and applicable tax rules.
• Analyze investment activity, including stock-related transactions, to determine proper tax treatment and reporting.
• Use tax and compliance software, including ATX and similar platforms, to organize filings, track deliverables, and improve workflow efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to resolve tax issues, clarify financial information, and support planning decisions.
• Develop detailed workpapers and spreadsheet models in Excel to support calculations, reconciliations, and return positions.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of tax experience with substantial exposure to corporate and individual return preparation.
• Strong background in corporate and individual tax compliance, including work with S corporation and C corporation filings.
• Experience preparing or reviewing annual income tax provisions for business entities.
• Knowledge of individual taxation for high-net-worth clients and familiarity with estate tax return processes.
• Proficiency with ATX Tax Software and other compliance tools used in tax reporting environments.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build and maintain accurate tax workpapers and analyses.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
Compensation
